If you look at the big picture of the entire watch making history. The 70s was no doubt a difficult time for Swiss watch manufactures. But also is a time that people absolutely love, where you start seeing a lot of interesting designs: especially the Omega Sea-Masters back then: funky shapes, experimental bezels and abyssal depth ratings – the so-called “Big Blue” Seamaster chronograph, the legendary Ploprof and the angular SHOM, among others. The family resemblance to earlier Seamasters disappeared altogether.
We are looking at a "Shom" today, The SHOM was a French government agency that produced maps and charts for divers. (not like any of you asked but "SHOM" stands for Service Hydrographique et Océanographique de la Marine just in case you wondered) These cartographers got an interesting angular case with the black plongeur sword hands and dial from the pilot line 200m.
Our SHOM is made by Watchco, an Australian Omega parts and service center. They use vintage Omega movements from lesser models and the rest of the watch is put together from brand new parts in the Omega catalog. Marked by pristine cases, mint luminova dials that glow like torches and aluminum insert bezels. They were made with the correct black hour and minute hand, as well as the orange handset from the Seamaster 120 “baby ploprof,” and Set with a new-old-stock mesh bracelet.
The watch is in mint condition that shows no sign of wearing, also it comes with 24 months warranty for your peace of mind.
