Introduced in 1956 as a civilian counterpart to the professional Fifty Fathoms, the Bathyscaphe draws its name from the deep-diving submersibles conceived by Swiss physicist and explorer Auguste Piccard. Here we have the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscape 43mm watch, identified by the model reference 5000.1110.N70B. Its round case, measuring 43mm in diameter and 13.40mm in thickness, is crafted from steel and features an exhibition back, allowing a glimpse of the caliber 1315. Powering this timepiece is the caliber 1315, shared by both the Fifty Fathoms and Bathyscaphe lines in their standard three-handed models. This movement combines meticulous haute horlogerie craftsmanship and finishing with functional attributes that align with the Fifty Fathom's tool watch heritage. A remarkable feature of this movement is its impressive 120-hour (or five-day) power reserve, ensuring extended periods of uninterrupted timekeeping.
Our beautiful example is originally from 2021, like a new old stock, the watch has never been worn and still has original protection stickers applied front and back. Comes with full set of Box and Papers in cluding the big Palican case which wouldn't fit in my tiny light box.
