Today we have for sale a limited edition Doxa Sub 1200T Shark-Hunter #0089/1200.
This is a professional dive watch in the truest of sense. Featuring 1200 meters water resistance and an automatic helium escape-valve this vintage-looking modern diver is a stout companion to any water-based watch enthusiasts. This watch is also very rare with only one other example being for sale at the time of writing.
Doxa is an independent Swiss watchmaking company that can trace its roots back to 1889. Being one of the few truly independent Swiss watch brands and specialising in dive watches, there are few companies better suited to making a real professional dive watch. Doxa was also the first company to offer a purpose-built professional-grade dive watch accessible to the public all the back in 1967 Baselworld.
Our example here has been through a full overhaul and workshop service, it was also pressure tested. The watch is in very good but loved condition displaying minor signs of use throughout the piece. This version of the high level professional diver was also limited to a total of 1200 total pieces.
This watch was designed for professional use and as such features these traits for the professional or enthusiast diver
- 1200m / 3937 feet water resistance
- 120 clicks unidirectional bezel instead of 60 clicks
- Bright orange minute hand
- Lume-dot at the 12 o'clock
- Easy to grip and manipulate the bezel with dive gloves
- Very good readability for the dial and anti-reflective coating on the crystal
- Automatic helium escape valve
- Jaque Yves Cousteau (so called "Father of modern diving") has been seen wearing a Doxa on multiple occassions
This is a rugged yet quirky professional-grade dive watch and would make an excellent addition to any collection who is looking for that serious dive or tool watch.
