Originally introduced in 1955, the IWC Ingenieur 666 is a landmark in horological history as one of the earliest purpose-built anti-magnetic wristwatches. Designed for engineers and technical professionals, it features a robust 36mm stainless steel case housing a soft iron inner cage that protects the movement from magnetic fields up to 80,000 A/m-double the resistance of many later models.
Distinguished by its understated elegance, the watch sports a silver dial with applied indices, dauphine hands, and a date window at 3 o’clock. The dial is marked with the vintage “International Watch Co.” script and the iconic lightning bolt Ingenieur logo above 6 o’clock, symbolizing its technical prowess.
Powered by IWC’s in-house Calibre 8531, equipped with the innovative Pellaton automatic winding system for enhanced efficiency and shock resistance.
Circa 1963, this extraordinary example we are offering here is a classic IWC Ingenieur 666 AD with date display. Among the early Reference 666 models, the version with a date (666 AD) is significantly rarer than the standard non-date version (666 A). This particular piece stands out for its exceptional, completely original condition. Offered with watch only, as well as our 24 month Vintage Watch Co warranty.
