The IWC Pilot Le Petite Prince was named after Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, who was a famous children's author who wrote the well received children's book "The Little Prince". However, the reason behind the name of the commemorative timepiece is because Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was also a noted aviator in France. IWC commemorate him by naming watches in their pilots watch range after his most famous book.
