Omega Speedmaster Professional 861

Omega Speedmaster Professional in stainless steel. Matte black step dial with printed tritium markers, chronograph minutes at 3, chronograph hours at 6 and running seconds at 9. Manual wind 861 movement. 42 mm case with pushers to activate the chronograph features and a Hesalite crystal. Set on a brown leather strap with stainless steel buckle.

The ST71 Speedmaster really marks the begining of the modern era of Speedmasters. The 861 movement has replaced the 321 and for the first time the caseback features the modern Hippocampus logo in relief with the 'First Watch Worn on the Moon' text around the outside. This caseback continues in production to this day. Despite these updates the watch still features a step dial like earlier references and in fact this is the last time this type of dial was used on a Speedmaster until the Ultraman Speedy Tuesday watch of 2018. This reference has been something of a sleeper as collectors focus on the 321 models and the early 861s with pre-Moon casebacks. This example is in very good condition with an excellent dial and has just returned from our workshop after a service. Sold with our 12 month warranty.
