Rolex Cosmograph Zenith Daytona

Rolex Daytona in 18ct yellow gold. Our example is from 1991 which makes this particular Daytona one of the earlier models to have the modified Zenith automatic chronograph calibre 4030 movement. Rolex introduced this movement in partnership with Zenith to replace the outgoing manual wind movement from 1988 onwards. This collaboration between Zenith and Rolex lasted until 2000 when Rolex introduced in-house movement, no longer using the Zenith movement. 

This watch presents a Champagne dial with applied tritium markers, chronograph minutes at 3, running seconds at 6 and chronograph hours at 9. Beneath the dial is the aforementioned modified Zenith movement which sits inside a 40mm case. On the front of the case sits a sapphire crystal encased by a polished gold tachymetre, screw down crown and chronograph pushers. This Daytona is set on an 18ct yellow gold Oyster bracelet, joined with a folded 18ct yellow gold Rolex clasp. This brilliant watch comes in very good condition with 24 month Vintage Watch Co warranty. Circa 1991.
