In 2010 Rolex made the logical step of increasing the size of the Explorer to 39mm in keeping with the prevailing bigger watch trend of the era. A controversial move to purists but a popular move for modern Rolex owners. The first version featured white gold filled 3, 6 and 9 Arabic numerals and what looked to be the hands from the 36mm model. Some people considered the hands to be a little too small for the dial while the less kind members fo the watch community christened it the 'T-Rex'.

These issues were put to bed with the release of the Mark 2 version we have here. With luminescent filled Arabic numerals and a handset proportional to the dial, this handsome watch was much more in keeping with the look of earlier Explorers. As an added bonus for collectors today this second model was only in production for 4 years from 2016 to 2020 when it was discontinued and replaced with a 36mm model. Our watch is in good condition with some marks on the bracelet and case from previous wear. Sold with its box and card set and our 24 month warranty.
