For sale today is this now discontinued Rolex Submariner 114060 40mm in stainless steel. Replaced by the modern 126610LN which among other things had its size increased to 41mm, this vintage Rolex offers a smaller alternative to its modern counterparts. The movement inside is the Rolex Calibre 3130. The movement has a BPH of 28,800, a power reserve of 48 hours and contains 31 jewels. This movement is COSC certified and features a bi-directional rotor which makes the movement an automatic movement.
This case is completely made out of the patented Rolex 904L stainless steel and this Submariner sits somewhere in the middle for size being bigger than the vintage 1680 but smaller than the modern 126610LN. The case features the patented Triplock screw-down crown and that coupled with the triple gasket seal system ensures this watch has a water resistance rating of 300m. The glass on the watch is sapphire crystal and the dial is a highly legible gloss-black.
The bracelet is the original Oyster Bracelet which is a fully satin-brushed stainless steel bracelet. This Rolex bracelet has screw links that make it very easy to change in and out links. The bracelet also has the higher-end Rolex Glidelock micro adjustments, allowing up to 20mm in adjustments at 2mm intervals.
This is a vintage Submariner that is marginally different from the current model but only very slightly. Perfect for those looking for something different as well as those who want a modern Submariner.
