It's 1969 and the race is on to release the first watch with an automatic chronograph movement. It's a three way contest between Zenith, Heuer and Seiko. Depending on who's side your on, the race winner was Seiko with the 6139 or Heuer with the calibre 11. What is not in doubt is the movement that has lasted the longest in production and that is the Zenith El Primero. This sophisticated calibre was the only one of the three that was a hi-beat movement ticking a 36000bph and is also the only one of the three to still be in production today.

This El Primero is part of the current Chronomaster collection and is styled to look like the earliest versions of the watch. In near new condition dating from circa 2021 and sold with its box and warranty card and the balance of Zenith warranty.
